Attendees will decorate their own beakers, thrown in advance of the workshop in the Clay Trap studio. There will be a demonstration on how the beakers were made on the wheel before each attendee will have the chance to use different surface decoration techniques from sgraffito to making newspaper stencils made on the day and painted motifs using our studio’s own range of slips. All works will be fired and glazed for you after the workshop.
This class is suitable for all abilities.
What to bring? All tools and materials will be provided. Wearing old clothes that can get mucky is advisable.
Collection: Works will be ready 5 weeks after the workshop to allow time for pieces to be dried, fired, and glazed. Pots can be collected from the studio at CAST during Open Access Sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings 5:30pm – 8:30pm and Friday afternoons 1:30pm – 4:30pm.
