Open Access Sessions

Weekly Sessions

Use the studio facilities at your own pace with support from our team of technicians during these bookable sessions. These sessions allow you to practise skills and develop your practice within a supportive studio environment. The session fee includes use of the full range of studio equipment, in-house slips and glazes and technical support. Wheels to be booked in advance. Clay and firing can be purchased separately at the studio.

Open Access sessions are weekly on a Monday and Thursday evening 5.30-8.30 and a Friday afternoon 1.30-4.30. These sessions need to be pre-booked online.

Open access session

£90 a month includes six open access sessions (bookable online) and your own dedicated shelf to store work in progress and materials. Please email us if you are interested in joining us as an Open Access Member.

Can I fire work that I've made at home in the studio's kilns?

Unfortunately, we do not fire work that has been made from outside our studio here at Clay Trap.

How much experience do I need to use the open access sessions?

We ask that you are confident and self sufficient enough to work on your chosen project without the need for tuition. The sessions are supported by a technician who can guide you with best use of the studio equipment. The shared environment creates a supportive atmosphere where skills and techniques are often improved upon through discussion with other studio users.
