Exploring functional wares and creating, attendees will work with ceramic artist Rosa Lily James, taking inspiration from celebration, ritual and togetherness.
You will learn pinch, coil and slab roll techniques to make wares for your future feasts.
This course will run once a week for two and half hours over a 4 week period; works will be bisque and glaze fired in our studio glaze before being available for collection from the studio.
Each attendee will have up to 5 pots fired.
What to bring? Please bring your own apron and towel to each session. All tools and materials will be provided. Wearing old clothes that can get mucky is advisable.
Collection: Ceramic work will be ready 6 weeks after the final workshop to allow time for pieces to be glazed and fired. Pots can be collected from the studio at CAST during Open Access Sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings 5:30pm – 8:30pm and Friday afternoons 1:30pm – 4:30pm.
£160 includes tuition, equipment, materials and firing of up to 5 pieces.
Minimum attendees 4. If we do not reach this number we may need to cancel the class, in which case you will be contacted three weeks before the start date.
