Bridie Maddocks and Sarah Fassnidge have taken over the management of the ceramic studio at CAST.
Sarah works primarily on the wheel, under the name SF Ceramics. She did a degree in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins and went on to work in prop and food styling, both experiences that now feed into her ceramics practice. She is fascinated by the intimacy of our relationships with everyday objects and produces vessels that hold tactility and an appreciation of the natural world at their core.
Bridie started her career in pottery with a two-year apprenticeship with the celebrated Dartmoor-based potters Nic Collins and Sabine Nemet and has since gone on to set up her own studio. She creates functional wood-fired, soda-glazed, wheel-thrown pottery.
The studio will continue to offer classes, courses, open access and memberships, as well as collaborating with CAST on learning programmes for children and young people.
